Michael Kelley - Artistic Director
Michael Kelley (middle left) is the Artistic Director of 3AM Productions. He is a 2005-2007 (debatable) graduate of Augsburg College with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre. As an actor-creator Michael laid the groundwork and helped create 3AM’s production of LOVE AND WAR played the title role in 3AM’s ROMEO AND JULIET. Other Minneapolis acting credits include Theatre de la Jeune Lune, Nautilus Musical Theater, Pig’s Eye Theatre, Hodge Podge Theatre, Savage Umbrella, The pants, The Pioneer Players, Shakespeare and Company and The Great River Shakespeare Festival. As a director and fight choreographer he has worked with Centre Playhouse, Magnolia Musical Theatre, Augsburg College and 3AM. This season for 3AM, Michael directed HAMLET which played at Pioneer Place on Fifth Theatre. He will be playing the role of Bernie in SEXUAL PERVERSITY IN CHICAGO and sound designing THE AWAKENING which is in collaboration with Savage Umbrella. Michael is also the Chairman of Pioneer Place on Fifth Theatre’s board.
Justin Hooper - Associate Artistic Director and Co-Production Manager
Justin Hooper (right) just wants to bring mass quantities of art to mass quantities of people. This makes 3AM and its new mission a perfect fit for him. Holding a BA from Augsburg College, Justin is also the Technical Director for the History Theater and a Scenic Artist at the Guthrie, as well as a freelance scenic and lighting designer. He hopes that you will join him in expanding all possibilities in theatre and art.
Jo Olson - Managing Director
Jo Olson's (middle right) thoughts can best be explained in the words of Tolstoy, "Art is a means of union among men..."and indispensable for the life and progress toward well-being of individuals and of humanity." With a BA from Concordia College, Jo is a Marketing Specialist at Thrivent Financial and a freelance marketing consultant. Her passion, however, lies in smaller non-profit ventures which she hopes to make her full-time job someday. Jo would like to sincerely thank every 3AM patron for making her job worthwhile and rewarding.
Brandon Ewald - Co-Production Manager and Artistic Associate
Brandon Ewald (not pictured) is an actor from Minneapolis. Regionally, Brandon has acted at the Walker Art Center, the Brave New Workshop, Screenlabs, Huge Theatre, and 3AM Productions. Internationally, Brandon worked in London where he studied acting, voice, movement and stage combat at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. At the Globe, he portrayed Romeo, from ROMEO AND JULIET, and Gratiano, from THE MERCHANT OF VENICE. Brandon also has worked in television and film with Inaccurate Vernacular, Group 101 Films, and MTV. Brandon wants to send a huge thanks to 3AM and invites everyone to come and share in the incredible journey we have to offer.
Tim McVean - Artistic Associate
Tim McVean (left) is also an Augsburg Alum from 2005. Since then, he has worked on numerous theatre, music and event endeavors including director for In the Basement Productions, designer for Minneapolis Musical Theatre and 3AM. As an actor Tim has worked with MMT, In the Basement, Shakespeare and Company and 3AM. He helped create LOVE AND WAR and will be starring as HAMLET in 3AM’s production. He also spends time with his band Right From Rona who is now in the recording phase of their first album. Tim is also a light designer and salesman for Avex LLC, a local audio/visual company.
