Mission and Goals
Our Mission
3AM Productions is a company that strives to create a total experience by enhancing theatre through different mediums of art such as multimedia, music, film, and visual art.
What We Believe
We are a company of honesty and are relentless in our pursuit of truth. We ask the questions that frighten us and excite us. When you have an experience with 3AM, everything begins to look a little different.
Our Story
In 2005, 3AM Productions was conceived in the old Bedlam space with a show called The Fischer Price. On the eve before opening the two directors realized they needed to bill the show under a name and as they looked at their watches it was 3AM. The phrase, ‘another 3AM production’ was born and the two decided it was fate. After a year off another project came about and 3AM was revived for one show which turned into two separate productions of the same name. Then a ‘meeting’ took place to actually lay the groundwork for a company. Romeo and Juliet was conjured up and positions were assigned. Skintight was slated as the following production and after the wrap of that, 3AM found itself at square one. With some debt and only an idea, 3AM was rebuilt into what it is now. Hamlet became the company’s focus which was produced over 6 months by 3AM and Pioneer Place Theatre. During this process, 3AM commissioned an artist, hired musicians and created an evening full of entertainment for the art enthusiasts. As 2009 turns into 2010, 3AM has established a season of work spanning a variety of theatrical genres: Hamlet in association with Pioneer Place in St. Cloud; Dumb/Sex which is derived from Pinter’s The Dumbwaiter and Mamet’s Sexual Perversity in Chicago running at The Old Arizona in Minneapolis and a collaboration with Savage Umbrella adapting the novel The Awakening by Kate Chopin performing at the Gremlin Theatre.
3AM is excited to be venturing into new realms of art in a pursuit for truth. Please check us out at any of these productions or contact us with any questions or comments. Art is a community, you are our community; isn’t it about time for us to meet?
